Probably one of the scariest things a toddler can say:
"I have a surpriseeeee!"
My 4 year old PJ opened the front door so quietly, and sneaked inside after a grocery run with 'Dada.'
"Mamaaaa?"
"Yes, baby."
"I have a surpriseeeee!"
"You do!?"
"I do! Close your eyes sooooo tight"
"Okay! They're closed."
"Are you sure they're closed? Super sure?"
"Yes, buddy"
"Ok here comes the supriseeeee!" *PJ proceeds to hand me a pipe cleaner "bracelet" with blue beads on it.
"Aww buddy, a bracelet for me!? That's so sweet of you, I love it! It's even blue - my favorite color!"
"No. It's a RING. And it's for me because I made it. So no ring for mama.... HA!" *Runs away.
...
Right.. of course. Silly me, I'll just go jump off the deck. I really did think that was going to be a sweet moment.
Preschoolers are brutal, man! He will randomly come and kiss me on the cheek and tell me he loves me, and then other times I am so sure he is planning to rob me of every cell of sanity and decorum I possess. But he is pretty dang cute. And he's super smart. So I really need to stay on his good side for when he becomes president at the ripe age of 5.
xoxo
